This searchable tool is based on the report City Revenue Snapshot: Revenue Trends of Michigan Cities 2002 to 2017 (Public Sector Consultants, 2019). The database provides information on municipal general fund revenue trends from 2002 to 2017, as reported by cities to the Michigan Department of Treasury. (Methodology)

  • Charges for services: Licenses and permits; sales, use, and admission fees; etc.

      • Local revenue: Fines, forfeits, special assessments, interest income, etc.
      • Taxes: Payments in lieu of taxes, trailer taxes, etc.
      • State Revenue: Fire protection, other state grants, etc.
